    Description

Up for auction is a vintage Green Day Dookie tour shirt! Dookie is arguably Green Day's flagship album and the album that broke the band into the mainstream, so this is truly a unique piece of rock and roll history. As Dookie approaches its 30 year anniversary, the truth is that not a lot of these shirts survived and are still around.
The shirt does have a couple of flaws though. Most notable are the 2 small cigarette burns near the bottom of the shirt. I had bought this shirt from a collector over 10 years ago and a I wore the shit to a Green Day concert a few years back and at an after party after drinking a few too many, had a mishap while sitting down on the couch and ashing my cigarette... D'oh! I had it stitched up after. They're small holes though and if you wanted you could take the stitching out and leave it as is for collectible accuracy or get a more professional restoration done on it (I decided not to mess with it further). The 2nd issue is that the tag was frayed and ended up falling off in the dryer as I was preparing to showcase the shirt on Ebay. I still have the tag though and it's the Wild Oats variation that the band regularly used. I will send the tag along in the order (it could be reattached if one desired). The 3rd flaw is some light staining under the armpits. It's more noticeable on the right side. It's not bad though and doesn't have the nasty yellow staining that you sometimes see with vintage clothing, it's more just faded looking. The 4th flaw is a small black blotch on the back (see photos for reference).
With all that said, the shirt's in pretty damn nice condition for being nearly 30 years old. The image print still looks crisp. The back looks really sharp and was something I was considering framing. It would make for an excellent display piece.
Add this historic piece of rock and roll memorabilia to your collection! Best of luck to the bidders.
