Measure using the center base anvil for loose stones, wedge shaped points or with the jewelry attachment for set stones using the probe
Estimate the weight of a gemstone from the shape, diameter, depth and nature of the gemstone
Use Wedge Shaped Points to measure Interiors of empty settings, Ring Size, and Stones mounted gypsy, tube, flush, burnished, or "rubbed over".
Use Projecting Probe when measuring depth of mounted stones, width and length of large loose stones and especially fancy cuts.
Use Jewelry Attachment when measuring  depth of stones in high settings or settings with small holes. NOTE: reset to zero after using  the attachment.
The Gauge is Portable and Battery Powered, pocket sized at just under 4" high and 2.5" Wide and 0.63 inches Deep. Lightweight at approx 5 oz .
The included black plastic carrying case is 1.5" deep x 3.5" wide and 5.75 inches high. Weight with gauge inside is approximately 7.5 oz.
Case is just about the width/height size of a cellphone and triple the thickness
