PICTURESQUE LISTVENITE CABOCHON 64 X 39 X 5 MMThis is a picturesque elongated oval
cabochon, cut and polished on one side from Listvenite stone, found in Northern Caucasus, Russia.
Listvenites have a bright green (from fuchsite) or grey (with colourless muscovite) colour. Often, due to the decomposition of carbonates, iron hydroxides appear, giving listvenites brown tints.
Listwanites are associated with deposits and ore occurrences of gold, mercury, cobalt, and copper.
Listwanite was first discovered in the Central Urals, Russia and described by the German geologist Gustav Rose in 1842.
Listvenite comes in all shades of green, yellow, brown, reddish-brown, grey, and white. However, this captivating cabochon has brown, yellow and white hues, and reminds woods scenery .
The cabochon is 64 mm high, 39 mm wide and thickness is 5 mm. It weighs 28 g.
