RARE PROTECTIVE PANEL BOLT FROM MARINER 6, THE SECOND MAN-MADE OBJECT TO HAVE FLOWN TO MARS
Protective panel bolt from the Mariner 6 spacecraft removed just prior to launch on February 23, 1969. The bolt measures 0.75 inches in length and is displayed in its original framing with a photograph of the spacecraft and a description to an overall size of 15 by 12 inches. We were unable to locate any relics from the second man-made object to have flown to Mars available for sale at auction in the past 25 years making the present bolt extremely rare and highly desirable.
