    Huichol Mexican Indian folk art is truly unique and all handmade by the indigenous people of the Sierra Madre mountains in Jalisco, Mexico.

    Huichol yarn art dog figurine sculpture.  Handmade by Mexican Huichol Indian artist
    Jose Montoya in Mexico.  Using the traditional Huichol techniques of pressing Campeche beeswax onto this Chihuahua sculpture and adding strands of yarn, this bright and colorful Chihuahua depicts the offering message to the Huichol Gods.

    Using rich purple and turquoise colored yarns, Jose Montoya created a beautiful background.
    Symbols are very important for communication by the Huichol.
    This dog has gorgeous hand painted eyes, a cute little black nose and a cranberry colored mouth outlined in black with black and white striped yarn in the center.  His eyes have two neon yellow Peyote flowers around the edges.
    His large perky ears have rainbow colors inside and two graduated green color leaves on the outside.
    Crossing his forehead is the Peyote cactus that leads to a blooming Peyote flower on the back of his head.
    Other important symbols include Snake God, the Shaman's pouch for the ceremony and the Shaman's star.
    This cute puppy has gray and white striped feet with black accents and neon colors around his neck and paws.
    He's (or she's) so special!  Beautiful gift for a dog lover.
    A COA, certificate of authenticity, signed by the artist, is included and this gorgeous art piece is personally signed by the artist.
