Handmade especially for our store by a Mexican Huichol Indian from the Sierra Mountains in Jalisco, Mexico.  The Huichol are an indigenous Mexican Indian tribe that originally relied on symbols for their written language.  Their culture, rich in ceremony and spirituality, create beautiful beaded art necklaces and earrings.  Each one of their beaded necklaces takes hours and days of work.  One by one, glass beads were added to create this gorgeous medallion necklace.  This necklace is 100% authentic Huichol hand crafted jewelry and not the imitation items.
Details:
Longer style medallion necklace with gorgeous rainbow color glass Chaquira beads.
The mystic spiritual pouch is used by the Huichol to carry seeds that are blessed during the ceremony for successful crops.
The story is told that the Huichol Indian, Yuramec, escaped the flood and carried a pouch around his neck to cultivate his new land.
The Peyote star cactus, the symbol for higher consciousness, is used during ceremonies by the Huichol Shaman religious leaders.

Large 3.25"W glass beaded medallion with graduated length dangles.
Hand woven onto a white double sided simulated leather pouch bag.
Medallion has a large green and blue Peyote flower design with yellow and red Peyote flower buds on the edges.
The outer ring is woven with lavender color glass beads.
Matching graduated length rainbow color dangles below the medallion with metallic green twist tube glass beads and larger sized purple faceted beads at the tips.
The medallion is held by a beautiful Huichol prayer arrow strand and accented with lavender beads.
