Handmade especially for our store by a Mexican Huichol Indian from the Sierra Mountains in Jalisco, Mexico.  The Huichol are an indigenous Mexican Indian tribe that originally relied on symbols for their written language.  Their culture, rich in ceremony and spirituality, create beautiful beaded art necklaces and earrings.  Each one of their beaded necklaces takes hours and days of work.  One by one, glass beads were added to create this gorgeous medallion necklace and medallion earrings set.  This set is 100% authentic Huichol hand crafted and not the imitation items.
Details:
Longer style necklace, medallion with gorgeous red (the fire God), orange (Wirikuta the sacred grounds), yellow (Uxa, a special root used for face painting before ceremonies) and black color glass beads.
The mystic spiritual pouch is used by the Huichol to carry seeds that are blessed during the ceremony for successful crops.
The story is told that the Huichol Indian, Yuramec, escaped the flood and carried a pouch around his neck to cultivate his new land.
Matching chandelier dangle earrings with same colors as necklace.
The Peyote star cactus is used during Shaman ceremonial rituals.
We love how the artist used accent colors on the medallion and blended the earrings with the colors.

Large 3.4"W glass beaded medallion with graduated dangles.
Hand woven onto a white double sided, simulated leather pouch bag.
Medallion has a large Peyote flower design with dark yellow Peyote buds around the edges.
Peyote is the symbol for higher consciousness by the Huichol Shaman religious leaders.
Huichol sacred fire colors
, yellow and orange colors, black color edges with a large graduated color Peyote flower.
Graduated black to burgundy to red to orange to yellow dangles below the medallion with pretty aurora borealis black color twist tube beads.  At the tips, small faceted black beads really sparkle.
The medallion is held by a beautiful Huichol prayer arrow design strand with fire color accents.
