    Description

Huichol Beaded Horse Figurine Mexican Handmade Folk Art Messenger Deer Sculpture
Huichol Mexican Indian folk art is truly unique and all handmade by the indigenous people of the Sierra Madre mountains in Jalisco, Mexico.
Beautiful, multi-colored, glass beaded and hand carved resin/fishbone horse figurine sculpture.  Handmade by a Mexican Huichol Indian in Mexico.  Using the traditional Huichol techniques of pressing Campeche beeswax onto this horse sculpture and adding, one-by-one, glass beads this bright and colorful horse depicts the offering message.  We love his rising from a kneeling position pose and he is
    100% authentic Huichol art
    .
    Measurements:
    Height: 2.5"
    Front hoof to tail: 3.25"
    Side to Side: 1.5"
Symbols are very important for communication by the Huichol.  One of the most important is the deer, the ultimate messenger of the gods.
On this horse sculpture, a large deer head is on his left side and two prancing deers are on his right side.  Below his gorgeous silver gray pearl and white striped mane is the mother of the corn; protection of the crops.  His face is made entirely of silver gray pearl beads and he has a bright red smile.  His eyes are deep forest green in the shape of the God's Eye for protection.  His tail has the same silver gray pearl and white stripe detail.  On his right leg, inside and outside, is the green Peyote flower; honored by the Shaman for giving influence to the Gods, communication with ancestors, messages for future crops, rain and healing of the people.  Note:  The metallic beads are more valued by the Huichol and cost double compared to the regular beads.
He's awesome.  Beautiful gift for a horse lover.
