Huichol Mexican Indian folk art is truly unique and all handmade by the indigenous people of the Sierra Madre mountains in Mexico.
Beautiful, two colored, glass beaded and hand painted resin/paper mache Pit Bull Dog figurine sculpture.  Handmade and
signed with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA)
by Mexican Huichol Indian artist, Isaias Bautista Carrillo, Turatemai, in Mexico.  Using the traditional Huichol techniques of pressing Campeche beeswax onto this sculpture and adding, one-by-one, glass beads this gorgeous dog figurine depicts the offering message to the Huichol Gods.

This majestic posed, 3D shaped, Pit Bull is completely adorned with iridescent pewter and solid black micro-glass beads and important symbols for the Huichol Gods.  Isaias' use of colors is unique and a
haute couture
style for unique Huichol sculptures.
On his head is the fertility symbol, the moon, and the Mother of the Corn protects the large corn stalks.  On his neck is the instructing snake that teaches the Shaman to become leaders.  On his back is the protecting God's Eye for his family and a large and powerful Father Sun is composed of 6 deer faces.  On his right hind leg, the Eagle or Mother Goddess, gives him strength.  On his left hind leg, a large Peyote flower is surrounded by the ultimate messengers to the God's, the deers.  On his chest is a large deer face with Peyote flowers and rain on each side.  This Pit Bull sculpture is adorned with strong, majestic, and impressively beautiful symbols.
We love the artist's use of only two colors of beads.  The symbols are beautiful and really shine against the black beaded background.  The metallic beads are more valued by the Huichol and cost double compared to the regular beads.  This is one of our favorite sculptures!
