    Description

Huichol Beaded Dog Figurine Art Mexican COA Handmade Puppy Sculpture 7.25"H
Huichol Mexican Indian folk art is truly unique and all handmade by the indigenous people of the Sierra Madre mountains in Mexico.
Beautiful, multi-color, micro glass beaded resin/fish bone dog figurine sculpture.  Handmade by Mexican Huichol Indian artist, Isaias Bautista Carrillo, Turatemai, in Mexico.
A certificate of authenticity (COA), signed by the artist, is included.
Using the traditional Huichol techniques of pressing Campeche beeswax onto this sculpture and adding, one-by-one, glass beads this gorgeous puppy dog figurine depicts the offering message to the Huichol Gods.
    Measurements:
    Height: 7 1/4"
Front Paw to Tail: 6 1/4"
    Side to Side: 3 7/8"
This adorably posed, 3D shaped, dog is completely adorned with micro-glass beads (chaquira) and important symbols for the Huichol Gods.
The artist used clear pink with pink pearl center beads for the background and we love how he turned some of the beads sideways for extra sparkle.  Every part of this sculpture is 3D.  Her right playful paw is up and turned slightly inward, her chest is rounded with muscles and her face is completely sculpted including the bright blue bow in her (or his) hair.
They Huichol symbols are linked to the Shamanic traditions of the past.  On her face, a large scorpion with a royal blue God's Eye in the center is the protector of the three Peyote flowers on her cheeks.  We love the gray pearl beads on her eyes, chin and peyote flowered lips.  On her chest, a large yellow deer, ultimate messenger to the Gods, protects her heart.  The God of rain, the salamander, with God's Eye center provides the water to help her grow (as seen on her paws).  Three green Peyote flowers lead to an extra large Peyote flower that is fully grown with fire color background.  Interesting how the artist incorporated smaller green Peyote flowers within the extra large flower.  On her belly, the snake protects the large Peyote and instructs the Shaman to be healers.
A beautiful gift for an anniversary,
    birthday
    or the ofrenda (offering).
