    Description

Huichol Beaded Cross Mexican Folk Art Hand Carved Wood Wall Hanging Ornament
Huichol Mexican Indian folk art is truly unique and all handmade by the indigenous people of the Sierra Madre mountains in Jalisco, Mexico.  Using the traditional technique of pressing Campeche beeswax onto this Mexican hand carved wooden sculpture and adding, one-by-one, glass beads this bright and colorful cross depicts the offering message to the Huichol Gods.  100% authentic Huichol art and not the imitation.
    Hand carved
    wood, fleury style, cross.
The front has a center peyote flower with yellow blooms.
Peyote is important in the Huichol culture for Shaman leaders during their religious ceremonies.
On all 4 arms of the cross, the Huichol artist created images of Huichol children dancing and playing.
They have black hair, eyes and mouth and each are wearing a lavender top.
Behind the children is the blue sky and an outline of blue pearl color beads.
Around the border and around the edges of the center Peyote flower is clear pink with pink center beads.
    So pretty!
The sides have small yellow Peyote buds outlined in black pearl color beads.
Below the flowers is a bed of lavender earth for the growing buds.
The back has an attached metal hook for wall hanging
    .
    Measurements:
Width from top to bottom: 5.75"
