    Huichol Beaded Art Jaguar Head Artist Signed Mexican Folk Art Large Panther Cat
    Huichol Mexican Indian folk art is truly unique and all handmade by the indigenous people of the Sierra Madre mountains in Mexico.  Beautiful, multi-colored glass beaded, hand carved pressed resin wood jaguar head.  Signed and handmade by Mexican Huichol Indian Iginio Bautista Bautista, Niuweme, in Mexico.  His work has been featured in the Temurikita Art Gallery in Italy and honored at the Plaza Caracol, Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco.
    Using the traditional Huichol techniques of pressing Campeche beeswax onto this jaguar head and adding (one-by-one) glass beads, this bright and colorful jaguar figurine depicts the offering message to the Gods.
    Huichol symbols are important for their messages to the Gods during religious ceremonies.
    This jaguar's eyes are aflame with the God's Eye, protector of the people, symbol.  His nose is the blue Messenger deer, the ultimate communicator with the Gods.  Around his mouth, yellow stripes signify the Huichol face painting with a special root that is used during the Shaman ceremonies.  Under his chin is a bright yellow blooming Peyote flower.  An extra large Kieri flower star, often called the tree of wind, is seen in rainbow brilliance on the back of his head.  The salamander, God of rain, creates an ocean blue beaded trim at the bottom.  Magnificent!
