    Description

Huichol Beaded Art CATRINA Figurine Mexican Day of the Dead Flamenco Dancer
Huichol Mexican Indian folk art is truly unique and all handmade by the indigenous people of the Sierra Madre mountains in Jalisco, Mexico.  This Catrina is 100% authentic Huichol.
Absolutely gorgeous, bright red, peach, light blue, royal blue, blue pearl, green, black, iridescent pewter color and white glass beaded clay Catrina sculpture.  Using the traditional Huichol techniques of pressing Campeche wax onto this sculpture and adding, one-by-one, glass beads this Day of the Dead La Calavera Catrina depicts the offering message.
Dressed in a gorgeous beaded, strapless aristocratic gown with Huichol symbols, this Catrina portrays a sassy and elegant pose while holding her dress as if dancing in the Jarabe tapatio or Mexican hat dance.
Her hat, wrapped in blue pearl color glass beads with royal blue accents holds up her hair as if to allow her body to dance.
The sides of her dress are flowing with green, pink and deep adobe red color beads.
She's holding up her strapless gown and light blue beads accent her bodice.  The symbols on the front of her gown include a large Peyote flower within a Peyote petal.  Peyote flowers are used by the Shaman during religious ceremonies for communication with the Gods.
Several Peyote flowers are nourished by peach colored rain and her skirt is outlined with silver pewter color beads.
On the back, Peyote flowers are in full bloom and being nourished by the red masculine fire rain.
Her head is detachable and can swivel side-to-side for more sassy looks.
The symbols used on her gown and hat make her seem as if she is dancing in a peyote ceremony in a most elegant way.  Gorgeous!
