    Description

Huichol Beaded Art CATRINA BRIDE Figurine Mexican Folk Art Day of the Dead
Huichol Mexican Indian folk art is truly unique and all handmade by the indigenous Indian people of the Sierra Madre mountains in Jalisco, Mexico.
Absolutely gorgeous, authentic, elegant pale turquoise blue, black, black pearl and silver metallic theme glass beaded, Day of the Dead, Catrina Bride clay sculpture figurine.  Using the traditional Huichol techniques of pressing Campeche wax onto this sculpture and adding, one-by-one, glass beads this Day of the Dead La Calavera Catrina bride depicts the offering message to the Huichol Gods.
Dressed in a gorgeous long sleeve bridal gown, with bright color beaded accents, this Catrina portrays a traditional and elegant pose.
Her classic style gown has a high neck with sparkly silver accents on the bodice.
On one arm, the candle with a God's Eye flame lights the way to her ceremony.  One the other arm, a half Peyote flower blesses her with messages from the gods.
Her 3D long peineta style veil adds height and elegance.  The veil is trimmed in light turquoise, silver and black pearl color beads.  In the back a huge God's Eye protects her future children and on the underside the rain nourished Peyote flower enables communication with the Gods.
Her gown has a Victorian style long train with an ear of corn symbol for good health and nourishment of her family that leads to a large Peyote flower.  On her back, the Mother of the Corn blesses her with the creation.  On the front, a large Messenger deer is receiving good wishes from the Gods with another Mother of the Corn and half flower.
Her head is detachable and we love her neon pink eyeshadow and Day of the Dead facial features.
Finally, she is carrying an enormous 3D sculpted Peyote flower bouquet.  Each petal is a Peyote flower and has 3D green beaded leaves.
The symbols used on her gown and veil make her seem as if she is preparing for her special day in a most elegant way.  Gorgeous!  See the matching groom in our ebay store.
