Huichol Beaded Art Aztec Woman Figurine 17H Mexican Chaquira Mosaic SculptureAuthentic Mexican
Huichol
Indian folk art is truly unique and all handmade by the indigenous people of the Sierra Madre mountains in Jalisco, Mexico.
Absolutely gorgeous, authentic Huichol, multi-color glass beaded Aztec woman figurine sculpture. Using the traditional Huichol techniques of pressing Campeche wax onto this paper mache'/resin mix sculpture and adding, one-by-one, glass beads this tall and slender Aztec woman carrying a jug depicts the offering message.
Dressed in a gorgeous glass beaded and glass mosaic tile low back strapless gown, this young Mexican Aztec woman portrays an elegant pose. Her dress has a sexy low back with a hand painted bronze color elephant parade at the bottom. The artist's integration of glass beads and glass mosaic tiles is unique!
The Huichol symbols include a long stalk of corn above a large Peyote flower in the front. The mother of the corn, the creator, is protecting the corn for the prosperity of the people. On the back, is the ultimate messenger to the gods, blue deer and yellow deer. A large Ojo de Dios, God's Eye, sends messages to protect the children.
This is a totally new design for Huichol art. Her pink sparkly glass mosaic tile sash is gorgeous with metallic purple painted edges and front tie. In her right hand, a rainbow beaded jug of water, or offerings for the fiesta, is balanced on her right shoulder. Covering her up-do hair is a wrap of lavender and light blue beads with royal blue and black trim. She is wearing a three strand hand painted bronze and turquoise color necklace, a hand painted turquoise and bronze color head band and we love her bronze metal hoop earrings.
The symbols and sophisticated colors used on her dress make her seem as if she is ready for the fiesta or ceremony in a most elegant way.
