Huichol Beaded Art Angel Child Figurine Mexican Handmade Folk Art SculptureMexican
Huichol Indian folk art is truly unique and all handmade by the indigenous people of the Sierra Madre mountains in Mexico. This figurine is 100% authentic Huichol Art.
Beautiful, multi-colored, glass beaded, angel blessing a child figurine sculpture.
Hand beaded by the Mexican Huichol Indian artist, Isaias Bautista Carrillo, Turatemai, in Mexico.
Using the traditional Huichol techniques of pressing Campeche beeswax onto this beautiful resin/fishbone sculpture and adding, one-by-one, glass beads this 3D angel and child depicts the offering message to the Huichol Gods.
Symbols are very important for communication by the Huichol. Isaias' unique
haute couture
style of defining his sculptures with graduated colors is amazing. Colors: Black, brown, red, orange, blue, yellow and gray. Some of the beads are turned sideways and this is merely due to the artist's space constraints.
Details:
The angel, with sky blue, graduated red, orange and black accented beaded wings, stands with her left hand above a boy child blessing his life and path.
Her right arm is around the child's right shoulder and her beautiful gown has sky blue sleeves and orange/red graduated colors.
On the back of her gown, a graduated red color God's Eye, the symbol of protection for children, is next to Father Sun, the ultimate power symbol.
Her black beaded long hair frames her hand painted face.
The child, dressed in a traditional choir boy red beaded coat with yellow accented sleeves, has his hands clasped in prayer and his black beaded head bowed in prayer.
