    Description

Ethnic Huichol Art Beaded Skull Signed Spirit Animal Mexican Folk Art Goat 15"H
Mexican Indian folk art is truly unique and all handmade by the indigenous Huichol people of the Sierra Madre mountains in Jalisco, Mexico.  Beautiful, bright multi-colored glass beaded goat skull, handmade and signed by the Huichol Indian artist, Iginio Bautista, Niuweme.  His work has been featured in the Temurikita Art Gallery in Italy and honored at the Plaza Caracol.
Using the traditional Huichol techniques of adding Campeche beeswax onto this real, taxidermy, goat skull and pressing (one-by-one) glass beads into the wax, this bright goat skull depicts the offering message.
This goat skull is 3D and gorgeous!  Symbols are important in communication for the Huichol and their art pieces send messages to the Gods.  In the center, a large yellow Messenger Deer is outlined on one side by the earth colors and by the fire colors on the other side.  Yellow is a special root used for face painting during the Shaman leaders' religious ceremonies.  The Eye of God, Ojo de Dios, protects the people and this goat skull two God's Eyes above fully bloomed beaded Peyote flowers on his cheeks.  The cool blue water colored beads outline the entire skull for successful crops.
This goat skull's horns are detachable for shipping.  A polyester woven cord was attached by Niuweme for wall hanging.
