Dichroic Kiln Fused Dichroic Cabochon, One of a Kind Artisan Created

Description

Xtra Large multi-layered dichroic kiln fused dichroic glass cabochon. Dimensions (as photographed):  35mm width x 37mm length. (1-3/8" x 1-1/2")  It is 5mm thick with part of the thickness the dome of the glass surface. Sparkling rainbow of floating color above a deep black base. I shaped this piece as a diamond shape, but it photographed better as a square shape, so it is not even as a square. This artisan created cabochon is 5 layers of spectacular top quality dichroic glass, kiln fused and grinder shaped which gives an even side for mounting. It has been "fire polished" to polish the edges smooth and harden the glass to a stone like strength.
Dichroic glass is extremely hard to photograph, so I've eliminated much of the sparkle to show the depth of color that is sometimes wiped out when this type of glass is photographed. That guarantees that this glass will be genuinely more stunning in person than in photography!
When photographing this piece, I've turned the piece 180 degrees to show the range and wide variety of color effects this glass has when viewed at different angles. The colors and patterns will disappear or appear when viewing at different angles.
