Collectible Vintage Sandstone? Hand Carved Lizard

Vintage Hand Carved Lizard. I am thinking this is made from sand stone. It measures 2.5 inches tall, 2.75 inches wide at the head. There are no makers initials. Please note there is a crack as shown behind the head and a chip under the tail and on the tail.
