    Description

CATRINA BRIDE Huichol Beaded Day of the Dead Mexican Folk Art Figurine 12.5H COA
Huichol Mexican Indian folk art is truly unique and all handmade by the indigenous Indian people of the Sierra Madre mountains in Jalisco, Mexico.
Absolutely gorgeous, elegant bright multi-color, platinum pearl and white pearl theme glass beaded clay, Day of the Dead, Catrina Bride sculpture.  Using the traditional Huichol techniques of pressing Campeche wax onto this sculpture and adding, one-by-one, glass beads this Day of the Dead La Calavera Catrina depicts the offering message.  Handmade by the talented Mexican Huichol Indian artist, Isaias Bautista Carrillo, Turatemai, in Mexico.  Isaias' designs have that
    haute couture
    elegance.
A COA, certificate of authenticity, signed by the artist, is included
    .
Dressed in a gorgeous beaded, very low-cut, strapless bridal gown, this Catrina portrays a sassy and elegant pose while holding her huge peyote flower bouquet that is outlined with red pearl beads.  We love how Isaias added 3D flower buds extending out of her bouquet.  Her a-line style gown with Father Sun blessing her gorgeous long train is 3D draped in the front to expose a white pearl Messenger Deer, the ultimate messenger to the gods, who is protecting a large peyote flower outlined with sparkly aurora borealis beads.
On the back of her dress, a large cornstalk, being nourished by the rain, is growing for her family's successful crops and a large white candle, outlined with the Huichol earth and fire colors, lights the way to her ceremony.
Her gorgeous head piece, in typical Mexican headdress style, is garnished with large 3D blue and white pearl flowers.  Her head is detachable and we love her blue beaded button earrings.  Her bright white teeth are accented by neon pink eye shadow and black beaded hair.  Other details include a white pearl and blue pearl trim at the top of her gown with matching choker necklace.
The symbols used on her gown and veil make her seem as if she is preparing for her special day in a most elegant way.  Gorgeous!
