Description
Catrina Bride Huichol Beaded Art Figurine Mexican Folk Art Day of the DeadHuichol Mexican Indian folk art is truly unique and all handmade by the indigenous Indian people of the Sierra Madre mountains in Jalisco, Mexico.
100% authentic Huichol beaded art. Absolutely gorgeous, elegant black pearl color, gold pearl color and black color theme glass beaded, Day of the Dead, Catrina Bride clay figurine. Using the traditional Huichol techniques of pressing Campeche wax onto this sculpture and adding, one-by-one, glass beads this Day of the Dead La Calavera Catrina bride depicts the offering message to the Huichol Gods.
Dressed in a gorgeous strapless bridal gown, with pearl color beaded accents, this Catrina portrays a traditional and elegant pose.
Her sophisticated style gown has gold rain symbols on her bodice.
The bottom of her flared gown has a Peyote star cactus symbol. Peyote is important to the Huichol Shaman during their ceremonies for future visions for their people.
Her mantilla style veil is enormous and envelopes her with protection. A coiled serpent protects her family's future crops and shiny Peyote flowers are in full bloom.
The back of her flowing veil is stunning. A huge Peyote flower is made of 7 Peyote flowers and Messenger deers dancing around the edges.
Her up-do hair, in 1920's clouche headdress style, has 5 three dimensional accents and the back is blessed with a gold and black pearl color Peyote flower.
Her head is detachable and can move from side to side for different poses. We love her neon pink eye shadow and Day of the Dead facial features.
Finally, she is carrying an enormous 3D sculpted Peyote flower bouquet.
The symbols used on her gown and veil make her seem as if she is preparing for her special day in a most elegant way. Gorgeous! See the matching groom in our ebay store.
