    Description

CATRINA BRIDE Huichol Beaded Art Figurine Mexican Folk Art Day of the Dead
Huichol Mexican Indian folk art is truly unique and all handmade by the indigenous Indian people of the Sierra Madre mountains in Jalisco, Mexico.
Absolutely gorgeous, authentic, elegant multi-color theme glass beaded, Day of the Dead, Catrina Bride clay sculpture figurine.  Using the traditional Huichol techniques of pressing Campeche wax onto this sculpture and adding, one-by-one, glass beads this Day of the Dead La Calavera Catrina bride depicts the offering message to the Huichol Gods.
Dressed in a gorgeous long sleeve bridal gown, with bright color beaded accents, this Catrina portrays a sassy and elegant pose.
Her traditional style gown has a high neck with a half Peyote flower, blue with rain, on the bodice, the mother of the corn protects her womb and the bottom earth colors are also receiving rain for her future family's crops.
Her enormous 3D long veil envelopes this sculpture with prayers for her wedding day.  Alive with Peyote flowers and Peyote buds, her veil is trimmed with metallic silver, metallic black, white and lavender.  The back has a bright red Peyote flower trimmed in metallic black.  Below, a large Peyote star cactus is also trimmed in metallic black and is being nourished by the clouds and the rain.
Her hair, in 1920's clouche headdress style, has three 3D red and black Peyote flowers and the white Peyote flower on the back blesses her with purity.
Her head is attached and we love her neon pink eyeshadow and Day of the Dead facial features.
Finally, she is carrying an enormous 3D sculpted fire color Peyote flower bouquet.  Each petal is a Peyote flower.
The symbols used on her gown and veil make her seem as if she is preparing for her special day in a most elegant way.  Gorgeous!  See the matching groom in our ebay store.
