"TAMMY & PEPPER" ORIGINAL LUNCH BOX
- (c) 1962 Ideal Toy Corp. / Aladdin Industries Inc. 9" x 7" x 3.5". Color litho on black vinyl with metal/plastic accents.
This lunch box features two dolls Ideal Toys developed as competition to the Mattel Barbie doll in the early 1960's.
The Ideal Tammy doll was popular in the early to mid-1960's and had a more "wholesome" approach, as opposed to the "curveous" Barbie doll. The Ideal Pepper doll was developed as Tammy's little sister.
Colorfully designed with outstanding eye appeal.
Condition is considered GOOD to FAIR with moderate surface/litho/edge wear. There is a 4.5" hairline seam edge separation by the handle area (hardly noticeable when displayed). We feel this separation, though apparent, detracts little from the overall look of the box (see photo 6).
Moderate surface scuffing with no other tears apparent. Red inside vinyl has the young owner's name & address neatly printed boldly in black marker. Mild oxidation on bare metal areas. Metal latch is still operable with no breaks on plastic handle. Thermos bottle is not included. Colors and imagery are still bold, bright and very attractive.
Overall, we feel this box is still in very displayable condition by most standards (see photos).
